AJ Gracia
Scouting Report
After spending his first two collegiate seasons at Duke, Gracia will be following Chris Pollard to Virginia for the 2026 season, where he projects to slot right into the middle of a top heavy lineup.
Gracia is well known for his bat, as the combination of power projection, patience, and little whiff in his game make him one of the more enticing offensive profiles in the class. It's a buttery smooth left handed swing, as Gracia whips the barrel through the zone with considerable ease. Despite the lengthy frame, the adjustability stands out in big way. Gracia shows exceptional feel for covering the entire zone with his barrel and adjusting to spin. Its an extremely polished approach and present bat-to-ball skills that really project to translate at the next level.
Gracia currently possesses just average raw power, but the physicality in his 6 foot 3, 195 pound frame points to more on the way in the future. He's an ultra-efficient hitter with a good understanding for how to backspin and lift the baseball, allowing him to slug past what his batted ball data suggests. Gracia can at times be a bit passive, but he's one of the more disciplined hitters in the class, reflected in his walk rate north of 20% in 2025.
A pretty good athlete, Gracia profiles best at a corner outfield spot in the future, where his bat will definitely be the calling card. Overall, if the offensive production takes a step in the right direction this year, Gracia has a chance to hear his name called extremely early come July. The potential for Gracia to grow into an an base and power threat at the next level make him an extremely valuable prospect.
