Conover transferred from the JUCO ranks to Oklahoma State following the 2024 season. Now, with two years under his belt in Stillwater, he’s one of the more fascinating offensive profiles in the country. His offensive mindset, approach, really his entire game, has transformed from one season to the next.
In 2025, Conover was a brutish slugger who punished baseballs. His peak exit velocities sat north of 110 mph, and he was an aggressive hitter who expanded the zone frequently and showcased below-average bat-to-ball skills. Fast forward to 2026, and Conover has completely reworked his game. He’s now making a ton of contact, especially within the strike zone, and rarely expands it. As a result, his contact quality has declined, and he’s not getting the ball in the air as much. Conover still has some holes against spin, but he’s flashing an above-average hit tool at the moment.
Conover will likely stick at a corner outfield spot at the next level. It’s an interesting profile, mainly because the bat is a bit of a tweener. If a team can find a happy medium, he could develop into a really exciting hitter.
