Weingartner was viewed in large part as an arm for some time, though over the past calendar year his tools on the other side of his game have kicked into another gear.
Weingartner was maybe the most impresive player to take part in Prep Baseball's Super 60 showcase. He broke the event record, running a 6.24 60 yard dash, threw 100 mph from the outfield, all while posting a max bat speed of 82.2 per blast motion. In case you don't understand how insane that is, it makes Weingartner a 70 grade runner, with 70 grade arm strength, and plus bat speed. It's nutty tools. The hit tool will be the biggest critique of Weingarter's game. It's fringy bat-to-ball skills, though he's shown good strike-zone judgment and the ability to draw walks. Weingartner will be 18.6 on draft day.
