Nye missed most of the 2026 season after undergoing internal brace surgery in his right elbow. He's expected to be back in 2027, with the type of stuff to take a jump into first-round consideration should he look full form.
Nye touches 98 mph with a heater that features plus carry coming from a roughly 6 foot release height. He'll rest 93-94 during most outings. The slider is a really good one with two-plane break in the mid-80s. He'll grab spin rates north of 2,500 rpms on the regular. There's a bigger mid-70s curveball that he'll showcase solid feel for, as well as a low-80s changeup that features 15+ inches of vertical separation off the heater.
Nye throws strikes at a high clip and gets chase with his entire arsenal. It's a relatively complete pitch mix and starter traits, look for Nye to really make some noise when he comes back better than ever in 2027.
