Brady Harris
Scouting Report
One of the more famous names in the high school class, Harris's combination of projectability and present tools stand out.
At the plate, Harris creates a ton of space with his hands, allowing his bat to fly through the zone, generating high level bat speed. It's impressive rotational acceleration, as Harris turns extremely fast and tight through the zone with some of the better lower half usage out of any prep bat in the class. Harris had a down summer offensively, as there was a good amount of swing and miss present, and his swing got long at times. He'd miss pitches served into the zone at a higher rate then you would like, also chasing pitches. Unlike summers before, he also hit the ball in the air less, limiting his ability to get to the raw power. There's so many tools here at the plate, but Harris will need to prove success against higher level arms this spring if he hopes to reach his early first round type cieling.
Defensively is where Harris shines the brightest, as he's a high level athlete who consistently showcases some of the better range in the class. The routes are clean, and Harris showcases plus arm strength to pair. From a projection standpoint, the ceiling is extremely high for Harris, as he has a chance grow into plus power among his other tools. Should he cut down on the swing and miss, the profile has a chance to take a huge leap this spring.
