A reclass up from the 2028 class, Witcher is now one of the top two-way talents in the 2027 class with big time physical tools on both sides of the ball.
Witcher has a strongly built 6-foot-5 frame with broad shoulders and long, athletic limbs. It's easy bat speed in the box with what could become plus raw power projection. Witcher will need to continue learning how to loft the ball to get to it, though his feel for getting to the pull-side is solid. Witcher has some swing-and-miss in his game, but he makes good swing decisions and doesn't chase outside the zone much. Witcher comes equipped with a rifle of an arm behind the plate, he posts sub-1.9 pop times regularly in workout settings, with throws that are consistently on the bag. He's also a surprisingly good runner for his size, average right now.
The ceiling may ultimately be even higher on the mound. Witcher touches 98 mph with considerable ease and will hold in the low-to-mid 90s regularly. It's a short, repeatable arm action and plenty of strikes at this stage. Witcher has as good a shot as anyone to start at the next level. The breaking ball is a solid one with two-plane break in the low-80s and spin rates north of 2,500 rpms. Witcher will need to continue refining and expanding the arsenal, but the raw traits here are plenty intriguing. It will be interesting to see which way this profile ends up going.
