Scouting Report

A late riser who surged up draft boards as a senior, Caden Sorrell still made it to Texas A&M, where he's been a spark plug in the Aggie lineup since his freshman year. Injuries have plagued Sorrell so far throughout his collegiate career, but when he's on the field he flashes an extremely loud set of tools. If it all comes together this spring, Sorrell is the type of player who could climb boards in a hurry.

At the plate, Sorrell boasts plus power out of an athletic 6-foot-3 frame. He's one of the best in the country at pulling the ball in the air and will flash electric bat speed from the left side. It's near 70 grade raw power with exit velocities that have already eclipsed north of 114 mph. There's a strong feel for the barrel and still room for him to add even more strength. The huge question mark in the profile is the hit tool, which currently grades as a fringy to below average. The whiff rates are concerning, and there's not a ton of adjustability in the swing yet, mainly to breaking balls thrown off the plate. Velocity up on the hands can blow Sorrell up. These are both areas that will need to improve for him to reach his sky-high offensive ceiling.

Defensively, Sorrell is electric in the outfield. He's a plus runner (when healthy) and a playmaker who can make highlight reel plays on balls hit into the gaps. He's finally getting a shot to player center field with the Aggies in 2026, and has been a real join to watch out there. If he can stay on the field and show real progress with the hit tool in 2026, there are top 10 pick traits.
