Cameron Flukey
Scouting Report
A name that has become well known over the last year, Flukey has established himself as one of the top college arms in the entire draft class. His projectable frame and arsenal really shine at this point in the process.
Flukey has long, wiry 6 foot 6 frame with plenty of strength gains to project on. He's an athletic mover down the mound, getting into deep scapular retraction and to a high three quarter slot where he generates a ton of extension with his long limbs. Flukey uses a 4 pitch mix, and all of his offering show considerable upside. His fastball will sit in the mid 90's and has already been up to 98 with explosive carry through the top of zone . It's a plus or better offering that could very easily be in the triple digits by draft day. The breaking stuff is what showed the biggest jump over the last calendar year, as Flukey now shows two breaking balls, each with sharp break and distinct shapes.
The first is a high 70's curveball that falls off the table with great depth that he shows confidence in, and it already generates plenty of swing and miss. Flukey also throws a firm mid 80's slider with bullet shape, and some depth as well. He rounds it out with a changeup that hasn't been super consistent but has shown flashes of being a useful offering in the future. It looks like Flukey has ditched the former offering for a kick change this fall, which looks like a much improved pitch, though it remains to be seen how it performs across a strong sample.
Flukey's combination of projection, feel for pitching, and stuff will make him a highly touted name on draft day, and if he can find his way in the right development system, there's front of the line rotation upside here. Flukey will be missing at least 8 weeks due to a rib injury, and time will tell how much the Coastal ace will throw in 2026. Still, his strong track record across 2 collegiate years is likely to keep him inside the top 20 picks.
