Carter Hadnot
Scouting Report
Hadnot has the look of being one of the top defensive shortstops in the 2027 class. Few in the country glide as effortlessly and smoothly across the dirt. Hadnot has quick feet and smooth transfers that suplement his ability to get to most balls hit his way. It's plus-or-better defensive traits, with plenty of arm strength across the diamond.
A switch-hitter, Hadnot has taken considerable strides forward with the bat over the course of the last 12 months. It's a smooth, stable look from the left side with a keen ability to back-spin the ball. Especially from that side of the plate, Hadnot has started to get to a good amount of his power in games. From the right side it's a flatter swing path, a slight forward rock before loading into his back hip. While Hadnot looks more advanced as a left-handed hitter at this stage, it will remain to be seen if teams view him as legitimate enough from both sides to let him hit from both at the next level.
Hadnot can flash plus run times when underway and looks to impact the game with his legs. He will be 19.2 on draft day.
