Chris Levonas

Levonas has always been highly regarded as a prospect. Coming out of high school, he was selected by the Brewers in the second round of the 2024 MLB Draft. He would turn down a significant pay check in order to pursue playing college baseball in Winston Salem, a decision that has looked only smarter as July of 2027 nears.

Levonas has a lean, wiry look about him on the mound, There's still considerable physical upside left in the frame. He's an ultra-dynamic mover down the mound, with extension that can get north of 7 feet. The operation can get a bit "efforty" at times, Levonas has a noticeably high leg kick and a longer arm action, though the delivery and the strikes have only improved throughout his collegiate career. It's still likely just average command.

Getting to the raw stuff, few in the country can compete with Levonas's bag of tricks. His fastball has been up to 101 mph at this stage, and he'll coast in the mid-to-high-90s with ease. It's a pitch with above-average carry and some slight tailing action too. It's comfortably plus fastball projection, and one that may have 70-grade upside. Levonas's best secondary is a sharp, sweepish mid-to-upper-80s slider that he tunnels exceptionally off the fastball. It's a pitch that generates huge whiff and chase rates, another offering that's pretty comfortably plus at this stage. Levonas also mixes in a big two-plane curveball in the low-80s that he spins well, a second potential plus breaking ball that gets a ton of whiff. A low-90s changeup and cutter will work their way into his mix, though those are clearly not the favored secondaries.

Levonas's arsenal as a whole will light up stuff models. The rest of the package is exciting too, when dreaming on the projection and developing starter traits it's easy to see a world where Levonas hears his name called in the first round come 2027.
