Ramirez is simply one of the better pure hitters in the country. He runs elite contact rates on just about any pitch, inside and outside the zone, and is seemingly allergic to striking out. Ramirez is aggressive early on in counts, and will run high chase rates, but he won't let many arms back him into a two-strike counts. While it's unlikely he ever grows into much impact, the tablesetter nature of his profile is hard to ignore. Ramirez transferred to the University of Tennessee following two outstanding years at Cal Baptist, and will look to continue to prove his pure hitting chops in the SEC.
Ramirez is a lean 5-foot-8, 170 pounds with bursting athleticism when you watch him on the dirt. It's a quick first step with outstanding lateral range and plenty of arm strength across the diamond. It's at least an above-average glove, and you could make a legitimate argument for a future plus. Ramirez does the little things well, and will make an impact in whichever lineup he is thrust into.
