Weinstein has been known as one of the top 2026 prep bats in the state of California for quite some time. He's a high IQ player who fits the "gamer" label perfectly.
At the plate, Weinstein employs an extremely simple, compact left handed swing. He sets up from a wider base with a higher hand set, utilizing a toe tap mechanism to time up. There's very little wasted movement in his hands throughout the load, paired with a flatter swing path geared towards spraying line-drives. Weinstein had a down summer offensively compared to what most where expecting after a loud 2024 circuit stretch. He finished the 2025 summer hitting just .194 across 94 plate appearences. His power output also declined heavily compared to the summer prior. Even with the down summer, Weinstein's metrics still where notibly solid across the board. His whiff rates where well above average, and though his feel for launch did regress compared to the 2024 summer, he still put the ball in the air at a solid clip. The approach may be what stands out the most with Weinstein. He rarely every expands the zone, and when he does he's got the bat-to-ball skills necessary to extend at bats. Weinstein has the swing, approach, and bat-to-ball skills that could translate to an above average hitter at the next level.
Weinstein will likely profile at second or third base at the next level, where he's got solid actions and smooth hands. Weinstein is a fringy runner, who likely won't contribute much on the bases. Even with some of the uncertainty around his defensive home, Weinstein's bat will be what carries the profile. He'll be older for the class, 19.4 on draft day, a draft eligible sophmore if he can make it to Baton Rouge.
