Comeau is a long, projectable left handed hitter with a promising upside at the plate. Comeau utilizes a simple left handed swing with very little wasted movement. It's a controlled move forward and a direct bat path that allows him to make contact at an above average rate. Comeau's swing isn't entirely built to loft the baseball, he's a guy who's mainly stuck to hitting the ball on the ground to the opposite field up to this point. He's already showing flashes of what the power could become though, most expecting it to end up an above average tool as he continues to tack on weight to his wiry 6 foot 4 frame.
Comeau is a fringe-average runner, but could jump a grade as he continues to get stronger. The defense is the big lingering question in Comeau's profile, as he's played all over the field up to this point. Improved actions this spring have scouts more bullish that Comeau fits on the dirt long-term. It's easier to see him now settling in at third base as he continues to add mass to his leaner frame, with potential to stick there in pro ball. Comeau will appeal to models as well, he'll be just 17.9 on draft day. With a strong spring, there's top 50 pick type upside here.
