Salerno is a bulldog on the mound with a workhorse frame and one of the best track-record of throwing strikes and getting outs in the 2027 prep class. It's an up-tempo pace on the hill with a clean, repeatable delivery. Salerno will tickle 98 mph with the fastball and will live in the low-to-mid 90s on a regular basis coming from a lower-than-average slot. While it's not a standout heater from a shape perspective and he doesn't have outstanding extension, Salerno commands it well to both sides of the plate.
A low-80s slider is the main secondary here. Salerno tends to land that pitch plenty but can tend to slow his arm down to get the desired shape. Salerno has flashed a changeup in the past, though it hasn't really been present during 2026 on the summer circuit. Still, it's a durable starter's frame, polish, and present stuff. A ton to dream on.
