Scouting Report

Webb is a 6 foot 3 right hander who saw a huge rise up draft boards this past summer. It's a wiry, athletic frame that projects to hold more muscle as Webb matures. Webb is a quick mover down the mound, opperating exclusively from the stretch and throwing from a high three quarter arm slot with a whippy arm action. It's a tough downhill look for hitters with plenty of extension that allows Webbs entire arsenal to play up. It can be an efforty operation at times, but Webb has done a solid job of filling up the zone up to this point.

Webb's fastball will live in the low 90's and has been up to 94 at it's peak. It flashes some life and carry up in the zone and an uptick in velocity is likely as Webb continues to grow into his frame. Webb's best secondaries are his 2 breaking balls with both flash plus potential. The first is a low 80's curveball with sharp downward break and strong spin rates. Webb also throws a firmer mid 80's slider with some depth that plays well off his fastball. There's a changeup that Webb will rarely encorporate but that flashes above average potential with strong fading action away from lefties and some depth. Webb's starter traits and projectability should garner him plenty of interest this spring, day one potential if he can see another jump in stuff.
