Bowen was someone that had a strong summer showing, but the tools were a little lackluster from where people wanted to see them. That's far from the case this spring. Bowen now looks like a name that could get paid away from his commitment to Oklahoma State.
At 5-11 190 pounds, Bowen has a compact look about him in the box. He sets up slightly crouched from the right side, utilizing a controlled leg kick to time up. It's a simple, direct swing, Bowen is someone that has pretty much hit wherever he's gone, he makes plenty of contact and could eventually grow into an above-average hit tool. While he doesn't have elite bat speed, Bowen has had instances where he's showcased some in-game slug, though groundball rates have been an issue in the past. He's a solid defender who may get a shot to stick at the shortstop position long-term.
