Morgan is a compact switch-hitter with exciting bat-to-ball skills and impressive adjustability in the box, even with an aggressive approach. It's easy to fall in love with the swing, especially from the left side, where he wastes little movement with a loose, direct stroke that works cleanly to all fields. For now, it’s mostly gap-to-gap power, though Morgan brings enough natural bat speed to potentially unlock more game power down the road.
An above-average runner, Morgan features bouncy athleticism and solid range at shortstop. He may ultimately profile best at second base as he moves up the pro ladder, but he should get every opportunity to stick at short early in his career. Morgan will pop on plenty of models and has a real chance to boost his stock this spring as he transitions into Trinity League play. He’ll also be on the younger side of the class, not turning 18 until after draft day.
