Scouting Report

A big winner walking away from the summer circuit, Booth's raw tools really stand out at this point in the process. He's seen a strong ascent up draft boards with a strong summer, and now looks the part as one of the top prep outfielders in the class.

Despite his physical build, Booth is one of the more athletically gifted player in the class. He's a 70 grade runner with powerful, explosive legs and twitch in every aspect of his game. Booth has shown to be a consistent hitter up to this point posting low strikeout rates with an accurate barrel. It's a more of an old school look in the box, as he'll move his hands a good amount and utilize more of a short, slappy, but compact swing to put the ball in play. Despite this, the raw juice Booth possesses is inevitable. He's barreled balls up with exit velocities north of 107 mph with wood, and there's legitimate power in his batting practice sessions. Metrically, he's got some of the better bat speed in the entire class. There's the potential for his power to become above average if not better in the future with some minor tweaks to the swing. Some of the athletic testing here suggests that Booth is just scratching the ceiling of what he could become as a hitter.

In the field, Booth's routes need some work, but he covers strong ground, and should be able to develop into an above average defender in the outfield. There where some concerns about Booth's arm strength this summer, but it's ticked up to average this spring. On top of everything, Booth will be young for the class, as he'll be turning 18 just around the time of the draft. Booth has a chance to hear his name called inside the top 10 picks, as the unique profile and healthy amount of tools make him one of the top prep prospects in the class.
