Ethan Norby
Scouting Report
Norby is one of the more fascinating arms in the entire draft class. While undersized, he's a guy who pitches with a bulldog mentality and goes right after guys, not afraid to fill up the zone.
What everyone is going to talk about with Norby is the breaking ball, it has a chance to be one of the best in the entire draft class. It's a low 80's sweeper that flashes spin rates north of 3,000 rpm's with darting movement. He has exceptional feel to command the pitch, and consistently produces whiffs with the pitch, in and out of the zone. Norby also throws a low 90's fastball, that has the characteristics to age into an above average offering. He throws it from a low release height and exceptional extension and over 2,500 rpms. The pitch has plenty of arm side run and performed at a great clip in 2025. Norby also folds in a mid 80's changeup with solid fading action.
While Norby may not have the sky high cieling like these other power arms, he has the look of a guy who could fit into the back end of a rotation. If he performs as expected in 2026, he could end up a day one selection.
