Scouts got plenty of good looks at Rippy when they went to evaluate his high school teammate this past spring, Connor Comeau. Comeau would end up going 54th overall to the Texas Rangers in the 2026 MLB Draft.
It's a lanky 6-foot-3 frame, but despite the longer levers Rippy displays exquisite control of his barrel and consistently posts well above-average bat-to-ball metrics. The swing here is balanced with not a ton of moving parts, and Rippy's barrel stays inside the zone for an impressive amount of time. He can flash the makings of above-average raw power in batting practice, yet he tends to spray line drives to both gaps and doesn't really sell out for much loft in game settings. Something tells me there's more in the tank here, and Rippy will likely continue to fill out and add strength in the winter months.
Rippy is a solid athlete who can turned in above-average run times. Rippy has a better-than-average chance of sticking on the dirt at the next level. Third base is probably the most likely home.
There could be something of a mini Bo Lowrance profile here, potentially a better athlete with less raw power. Teams will want to get plenty more looks at Rippy this spring after an abbreviated summer showcase circuit. Anderson High School in Austin, Texas will yet again be a hot commodity.
