Brenner was a standout performer on the summer circuit, and continued the success in the fall. His blend of athleticism mixed with polish make him one of the more intruiging prep catchers in this class.
Brenner runs miniscule whiff rates with very little chase. He makes a ton of contact with a simple, direct right-handed stroke. He covers the entire zone with his barrel, adjusting well to secondary offerings. Brenner's offensive approach is geared heavily towards spraying ground balls across the field. He hasn't slugged much at this stage, though there's the hope that with some added muscle to his lean frame he could grow into more raw and game power further down the road.
Brenner is an above average to plus runner, a bit of an outlier at the catcher position. He features plus arm strength out of the crouch aswell. Though still developing as a blocker and reciever, with his athleticism Brenner has a chance to stick behind the dish. Brenner has played some shortstop in his high school career aswell.
