Slightom has been a considerable riser this spring. A guy that would occasionally brush the low-90s, he's now been up 98 and is sitting in the mid 90s regularly.
Slightom is an athletic mover down the mound with some funk to his delivery. His main secondary is a sweepy upper-70s slider that he spins well, but can lack consistent feel for at times. He'll also drop in an mid-80s changeup that has improved over the course of the past year, a pitch he sells with good arm speed that shows some tumble and fade when thrown well.
Slightom isn't the most polished arm in this draft class, but his improving arsenal and power fastball could get him signed away from his commitment to the University of Cincinatti.
