With Jackson what immediately stands out are the loud physical tools. It's a strength packed, boulder-like 5 foot 10 frame and high end athletic testing. At the plate, Jackson features an unorthodox set up and load, but he gets to good positions allowing his bat to work freely through the zone. It's an all fields approach, with some solid raw power as well, although Jackson can at times struggle to lift the ball to his pull side. Overall, the bat will be what carries the profile, and there's potentially even more bat speed to unlock considering the explosive athletic traits.
Jackson is an above average runner who has seen time at both shortstop and in the outfield, most leaning towards him eventually playing in an outfield spot long term. He's quick enough to play center field, although fringe average arm strength may ultimately move him to left when forced off by a stronger defender. Jackson will be on the older side of the class, 19.5 on draft day. Even with the age not being in his favor, the tools are going to be what drive the profile.
