Laskofski transferred to the University of North Carolina following a breakout sophomore campaign at William & Mary, where he hit .355 with 13 home runs. He'll look to follow in the footsteps of Vance Honeycutt and recent middle-infield transfers as the next Tar Heel shortstop to go inside the top two rounds.
It's a thicker, more physical frame for a shortstop at 6-foot, 200 pounds, but Laskofski displays enough lateral quickness, range, and arm strength to stick at the position early in his career. A eventual move to second base remains likely as he advances through pro ball.
At the plate, Laskofski employs a quick, direct left-handed stroke with quiet hands, excelling at getting the barrel out front and pulling the baseball (though leveraging it can still be an issue sometimes). Laskofski is also one of the country's best two-strike hitters, shortening up and battling deep into counts. He has consistently posted high contact and walk rates paired with low strikeout totals throughout his amateur career, metrics that have held up cleanly in wood-bat play. While his raw power is below-average with limited physical projection remaining, he's shown the ability to get the most out of it, and may have a legitimate shot at double-digit homers.
Laskofski is a high-floor, well-rounded ballplayer who will improve whichever lineup he is thrust into. He'll have a prime opportunity to boost his stock further in the ACC come 2027.
