A guy who's been well known on the circuit for a while now, Lane has some of the louder offensive traits in the class. He'll be young at draft time as well, just having turned 18.
At the plate, Lane has some serious twitch in his hands and hips. It's electric bat speed from the right side, translating into some of the better power upside in the class. Lane's swing can get long at times, and strikeouts have become more and more prevalent as he's faced better pitching. Despite this, there's a long track record of hitting here, as Lane has hit for a steady average on the circuit for a while now. If it can all come together, Lane has some of the higher offensive upsides out of any bat in this class.
In the field, Lane is extremely athletic. He's both catched and played outfield throughout the summer circuit, but most scouts forecast that he'll stick at a corner outfield spot in the future, where the bat will play best. He's an average runner with average arm strength.
