Durnin is a solid middle-infield prospect with exceptional swing decisions at the plate. He starts slightly open with some rhythm and waggle to his hands, loading early with a big leg kick. Durnin has solid-average bat-to-ball skills with what has mostly been gap-to-gap power at this point. He likely won't be run-producer at the next level, but has a solid enough offensive package to where it's easy to see him slotting in towards the back of a lineup.
Durnin shines on the dirt with great lateral range and a strong arm across. It's traits to stick at shortstop long-term.
