Jones was a standout as a freshman at Stetson slashing .355 with .935 OPS, 5 homeruns and 15 doubles. He elected to enter the transfer portal following a breakout 2024, and landed at Florida where he was expected to be an immediate contributor. Unfortunately, injuries caused him to miss almost all of the 2025 season, where he logged only 16 at bats across 4 games. Jones is back again and healthy in 2026, and looks to be one of the main offensive producers atop a loaded Florida lineup.
Jones looks the part at an athletically built 6 foot 3, 185 lbs with plenty or room still to add on mass. He's a plus runner with the skillset offensively that further aids his case of becoming a future sparkplug. Jones can put the bat on the ball, and that was clear throughout his freshman year. He ran an overall whiff rate of 15 percent, just an 8 percent rate inside the zone. Not only did he perform well against velocity, but his ability to put the ball in play was further aided by a 9 percent strikeout rate overall. Jones does have some trouble adjusting to breaking pitches and his swing can get quite stiff at times with a good amount of movement in his hands. Jones dosen't posses tons of raw power, fringy at this stage, though his wiry 6 foot 3 frame still holds plenty of room to fill out.
Jones has a future in center field, where his plus speed plays in a huge way. He's likely to start there for the gators in 2026, where a healthy season could do numbers for his draft stock.
