McNeillie has worked mostly out of the bullpen as both a freshman and sophmore at Florida, though he looks like he could be the third starter this year in a Florida rotation that may be the best in all of college baseball. Even if McNeillie dosen't end up fulfilling a starting role, it's easy to dream on what the arm could look like in due time.
McNeillie still has plenty of projection left in his 6 foot 3 frame, with room to still hold 15-20 lbs of real muscle. It's a smooth, athletic delivery and an arm that works well to a high slot. McNeillie's arsenal is headlined by a fastball that has flashed plus characteristics up to this point in time. The pitch generally lives in the 93-94 range but has been up to 97 mph with huge vertical life and carry through the zone. McNeillie's best pitch may be his mid 80's slider with both depth and glove side action that performed well throughout the 2025 season. It's a plus offering that he shows developing feel for. McNeillie can also mix in a changeup that he sells with conviction that has some fading life to his arm side.
It's an intruiging total package, potentially three average offerings and two that could ultimately end up plus. McNeillie may have to refine his control a bit to shake off some of the reliever concerns, but the traits are here to be an early round selection in 2026.
