Williams missed almost the entirety of the summer circuit due to an ankle injury. Despite this, he's one of the more toolshed athletes in the class. The twitch Williams offers on the field is rivaled by few.
At the plate, Williams creates big stretch with his upper body, allowing his bat to fly through the zone. It's loud bat speed and exciting raw power at times from the right side. The hit tool, at this point, has been the biggest critique in Williams's game. His strikeout numbers will tend to balloon out of control at times, his swing getting long and out of sync and diminishing his contact quality. If the hit tool can improve, Williams has early day one upside, but he'll need to put up big numbers throughout his Senior spring. His offensive profile will be a tough one to evaluate, considering there's little to no data from the summer circuit.
Williams is a plus or better runner who's split time between shortstop and center field at this point. His athleticism gives him plenty of versatility in the field, but he should stick up the middle long term. There's also a plus or better arm here that will get up to 98 from the outfield. If Williams can come back from his injury full form, the tools are scary. While there's some polish needed around the edges of his game, with Williams your betting on the athlete.
