Shelar has one of the more exciting blend of offensive tools out of any prep outfielder in the class. It's a big, physical 6 foot 2 frame with compact strength spread throughout.
At the plate, Shelar sets up from a narrow base, toe tapping before rotating strongly into his front side. It's a violent approach from the right side, as Shelar's not afraid to take big swings at pitches left over the plate. He's got electric hand speed through the zone, translating to plus raw power that's already showing up in huge exit velocities north of 115 mph in batting practice. Despite a swing that comes with some questions, Shelar has seemingly performed at every stop. His bat-to-ball skills haven't wavered even while facing the best competition the country has to offer over the summer.
Shelar is a bulky athlete, an above-average runner who should profile best in a corner outfield spot in the future with above average arm strength. There's not a ton of projection left in his frame, but with Shelar the now product is extremely appealing.
