McCraine looks the part in the box, with a huge 6-foot-6, 210 frame. He starts slightly open with higher hands, utilizing a controlled leg kick to time up. It's presently plus raw power, with exit velocities that have peaked as high as 114 mph and impressive hard-hit rates. McCraine may even have a chance to grow into more as he continues to tack weight onto frame. It's an exciting profile to dream on.
There are presently some holes to pick at with the hit tool, as McCraine has some swing-and-miss in his game against breaking balls in particular. He still makes above-average swing decisions, but teams will want to see the contact rates, especially inside the strike zone, stabilize as the draft approaches.
A former left-handed pitching prospect in high school McCraine owns plus arm strength from the outfield. He's also a sneaky good runner with some range. This is an impact stick with a likely long-term home in right field.
