With the star power that UCLA has, it's easy to overlook Mulivai Levu. Still, there's no denying how good of a hitter the first baseman is.
Levu has an aesthetically pleasing left-handed swing that's smooth and compact, yet lightning quick through the zone. The adjustability stands out. Levu can turn tight on anything thrown towards his hands while also slapping balls the other way on pitches thrown on the outer half. Levu can at times get quite agressive, which can cause his contact quality to diminish, also hurting his walk rates. Still, Levu has exceptional bat-to-ball skills on pitches inside and outside the zone alike. Early on in 2026, he's lowered his strikeout rate significantly from where it was prior. You could make an argument that Levu projects as an above average hitter at the next level.
Levu has some thump in his bat as well. His exit velocities have already peaked north of 112 mph early on in 2026, showing off plus raw power. Levu can at times struggle to get to that raw power in games due to inflated ground ball rates, but the upside here is clear.
Levu is a really solid defender at first base, where he projects at the next level. There are some rumors that he may attempt to play second or third base later down the stretch for UCLA, but it's likely a long shot. If Levu's hot start continues, he has a chance to confortably go inside the top 100 picks.
