A surprising reclass from the class of 2027 this summer, Maniscalco will be one of the younger draft eligible high school players we've ever seen, and a fascinating one to say the least.
Maniscalco's glove might be gold glove caliber, easily said. There such a smooth and easy way about how Maniscalco plays defense. The actions are buttery smooth, as Maniscalco shows advanced footwork and quick hands with great lateral mobility. Maniscalco features double-plus arm strength across the diamond with effortless carry and the ability to make throws from multiple arm angles. Considering his age, it's easy to envision Maniscalco developing into a plus-or-better defensive shortstop.
At the plate, Maniscalco employs an extremely smooth and level swing from both sides of the plate. He's a little more advanced from left side, with better feel for backspining the baseball and a tick more bat speed when compared to the right. Maniscalco can struggle with his timing at times, as there's some inconsistencies on when he'll load into his back hip causing some swing and miss, despite this, he'll put up some long quality at bats with some impressive takes. It's currently hit above power, but Maniscalco has showed off above-average raw power in batting practice, though it's yet to really show up in games. With the bat, while it may be underdeveloped, it's extremely important to remember you're looking at a guy who is 2 years younger than some in this class, so there's a ton of strides to be made in the future. The premium defense gives Maniscalco a high floor, and the age gives him a development ceiling few in this draft class match. He'll be 17.2 on draft day.
