Martin would be a shortstop at most other programs in the country, but with Roch Cholowsky flanking his left he's been forced off to third base for all of his college career so far. He could start off pro ball at the shortstop position, though if he stays at the hot corner he's got a chance to be an above average or better defender with plus arm strength.
Martin has some passivity to his approach at the plate, though he can be dangerous when he does pull the trigger. It's above average raw power, though Martin has struggled to fully tap into all of it so far. It's solid-average contact skills, but Martin especially excels against fastballs. He hammers anything hard and inside the zone, but he can at times struggle adjusting to breaking balls. This is a well-rounded profile with a solid amount of tools.
