Peterson has been another notable riser this spring due to jumps in velocity, command and overall stuff. He's one of the more intruiging mid-major arms in this class.
Peterson is an ultra-fluid and athletic mover. He rides his high leg kick beautifully down the mound, generating solid extension. It's a starters look, and the operation as a whole has become more in-sync over time. Peterson is now reaching up into the mid-90s with his fastball that he throws with some carry coming from a low three quarters slot. While the pitch has favorable shape and release traits, he can at times struggle to garner whiffs with the offering. Peterson's best offering is a low-80s breaking ball with some sharp bite and spin rates that at times will eclipse 3,000 rpms. It's a plus breaker. He'll also flash an occasional changeup pretty much exclusively to lefties.
