Despite missing the entirety of the 2025 season, Sdao turned down solid money in the draft to return to college station for the 2026 season. He looks fully healthy again this year, likely the friday night arm for a loaded Texas A&M squad. Despite the fact that he'll be quite old on draft day (22.8 years old) Sdao has some pretty intruiging traits that could make him a day one selection.
Sdao has a wiry, projectable 6 foot 3 frame with plenty room to add muscle. The fastball peaked at 97 mph before injury, regularly sitting in the low 90's. The pitch has backspin and carry towards the top of the zone, playing up aswell due to solid extension down the mound. His best secondary is a low 80's sweeping slider with big horizontal break. The pitch performed at an exceptional rate in 2024, enough to suggest a plus grade moving forward. He also throws a solid changeup that he won't throw as much, but has flashed solid depth and fade.
Sdao can pound the strike-zone, and that's clear. He owned a 1.7 walks per 9 across a 48 inning sample in 2024. Sdao will have to show up in 2026, but the components are here for an early round pick. He'll have to put up a fully healthy season, aswell as perform exceptionally well considering he'll be much older than the competition, but there are components of the profile to be excited about.
