Sherman Johnson

Johnson has been one of the pleasent surprises this year for the NC State Wolfpack. A JUCO transfer, he's been one of the bigger sleeper prospects in the country, and is now generating buzz as a potential top 5 rounder.

Johnson has well above average bat-to-ball skills both inside and outside the zone. He can get quite agressive and expand the zone at times, with inflamed chase rates. He's a hitter who looks to be aggressive and do damage to fastballs. Johnson has peaked with exit velocities north of 110 mph, showcasing above average raw power, however he at times can struggle to get to that power due to hitting the baseball on the ground. While some polish of his game will be neccesary, Johnson has the raw traits to become an exciting hitter.

Johnson is an above average runner who has played mostly third base for the wolfpack so far. He's athletic enough to where some think he could end up in the outfield.
