Davis set the college baseball world on fire in 2026, when he slashed .355/.443/.848 while smashing 34 home runs during his golden spikes worthy sophomore campaign. Davis looks like a lumberjack in the box, with broad shoulders and thick forearms. He famously elects to hit without batting gloves.
It's monstrous power, potentially 70-grade projection at the next level. Davis has brutish bat speed and loose wrists that he uses to leverage the baseball. Davis's feel for pulling the baseball and lifting it in the air is exceptional, even if his spray chart as a whole is quite balanced. There are still huge questions with the offensive profile. For the time being it's 30-grade bat-to-ball skills, and Davis expands the zone frequently as well. There's a lot of moving parts in the swing, and Davis will find himself out of sync and either chasing breaking balls off the plate or getting blown up by fastballs towards the top of the zone. These types of extreme slugging profiles can exist, and they have, only players who succeed with this amount of swing-and-miss rely on elite swing decisions and ability to rack up walks, both of which Davis has fairly struggled with up to this point in time. There's no doubting the feel for the barrel and what Davis can do to a baseball when he squares one up, but some components of his offensive profile are quite unpolished.
Davis is highly regarded as having one of the best first-base gloves in the country, he has a chance to be a real difference maker there at the next level. There's strides teams will want to see Davis make in his draft-eligible year. Similar to Myles Bailey from the 2026 Draft class, his contact rates and swing decisions will need to show promising improvement.
