Scouting Report

A late reclass up from the 2027 class, Brick is one of the better high school catchers we've seen in recent years. He's got a strong chance to stick behind the plate, with some high level tools showing on the offensive side aswell.

At the plate, Brick shows off a simple, quick swing from the right side. He's been known to make contact at a high rate, rarely expanding the zone and showing off a polished approach. Brick will mostly stick to spraying line drives in game, rarely trying to forcibly lift the ball in the air. While the in game power may still be developing, the raw juice that Brick possesses is rivaled by few in the class. He's peaked with exit velocities north of 109 mph in batting practice, driving balls over 420 feet. Pair this with plus bat speed and you've got easy plus raw power projection. Brick will need to learn to unlock it in game, but the traits are here for him to become a scary power threat further down the line.

Behind the plate, Brick is an athletic defender with a strong, accurate arm and a high baseball IQ. He's one of the better catch and throw artists in the class with a quick release and superb pop times. Brick has a chance to develop into a special type of prospect if it can all click. There's obvious risk that comes with taking a prep catcher (a known risky demographic), but the upside here will be too good for teams to pass on.
