Zion Rose
Scouting Report
One of the better known names to make it to campus out of this class, Rose has been a force in the middle of a Louisville lineup that made a run at things this past year, and capped of a great 2025 season with a stellar performance at the USA college national team training camp.
At the plate, Rose is a strongly built right handed hitter with strength spread throughout his body. Despite the moving parts in his swing, Rose is a tough at bat. He struck out at an 11.2% rate in 2025, showing the ability foul of pitches and work at bats. He's a relatively aggressive hitter, chasing a strong amount, leading to less walks then you would hope but the bat to ball skills are very present here. Rose is currently a gap to gap hitter, not showing a ton of feel to pull the baseball, but he improved heavily in the homerun department in 2025, smashing a total of 13 on the year. There is bat speed and raw power that suggests that an above average power grade is just on the horizon.
Rose is a plus runner with a great understanding of how to use his speed on the bases. He stole 31 this past year at Louisville. Rose was mostly known as a catcher out of high school but has seen a shift over to a corner outfield spot where his speed plays better. He'll likely profile best in left field, where his bat will do a lot of the heavy lifting, but ultimately there are a ton of tools to love here.
